{"id":18035,"date":"2020-03-31T15:17:54","date_gmt":"2020-03-31T13:17:54","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/opentalk.iit.it\/?p=18035"},"modified":"2024-07-11T16:31:50","modified_gmt":"2024-07-11T14:31:50","slug":"iit-researchers-win-the-genoese-selections-of-famelab-2020","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/opentalk.iit.it\/en\/iit-researchers-win-the-genoese-selections-of-famelab-2020\/","title":{"rendered":"IIT Researchers win the Genoese selections of Famelab 2020"},"content":{"rendered":"<h4><strong><span lang=\"EN-GB\">IIT Researchers win the local Genoese selection of Famelab, the global competition of science communication<\/span><\/strong><\/h4>\n<p><!--more--><\/p>\n<p><span lang=\"EN-GB\">Ottavia Bettucci a post-doctoral researcher in the team Tissue Electronics at the Centre for Advanced Biomaterials for Healthcare (CABHC-IIT Naples) and Fabrizio Fiorentini, a PhD student in the team Smart Materials IIT (CCT &#8211; IIT Genoa) are the winners of the local Genoa selection of the <a href=\"file:\/\/\/C:\/%3Fp=4582\">Famelab 2020 science communication competition.<\/a><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span lang=\"EN-GB\">The two IIT researchers were announced during a video conference with the participants, jury and organisers. <\/span><span lang=\"EN-GB\">A common scene today during the Coronavirus crisis.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span lang=\"EN-GB\">The final event did not take place as programmed, at La Claque, the famous theatre in the historical centre of Genoa, but by sending a 3-minute video with which the finalists of the local selections illustrated a scientific topic of their choice without any audiovisual media in accordance with the competition&#8217;s rules.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span lang=\"EN-GB\">Participants were judged by a technical jury, composed of researchers and science communication experts, as well as the public by liking the videos published on the website channels of the <a href=\"https:\/\/unige.it\/\">University of Genoa<\/a>, leader of the local selection organised together with <a href=\"https:\/\/www.cnr.it\/\">CNR &#8211; National Research Council<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.iit.it\/\">\u00a0IIT<\/a>, <a href=\"http:\/\/home.infn.it\/it\/\">INFN &#8211; National Institute of Nuclear Physics<\/a>, <a href=\"http:\/\/www.festivalscienza.it\/site\/home.html\">Science Festival Association<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.acquariodigenova.it\/\">Genoa Aquarium<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/dottorato.it\/\">Association of PhD students and PhD graduates in Italy<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/umi.dm.unibo.it\/\">Italian Mathematical Union<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.scientificast.it\/\">Scientificast<\/a>.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span lang=\"EN-GB\">Ottavia Bettucci placed first for the technical jury and second for the public jury with &#8220;Electrical body&#8221;; Fabrizio Fiorentino, instead, placed second for the jury and first for the public with &#8220;Drinking is believing&#8221;<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span lang=\"EN-GB\">The two winners of the local selection will be entering a master class in science communication and the national final, to be held in Trieste.
