{"id":27566,"date":"2020-03-19T11:17:17","date_gmt":"2020-03-19T10:17:17","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/opentalk.iit.it\/?p=27566"},"modified":"2024-07-12T09:06:40","modified_gmt":"2024-07-12T07:06:40","slug":"science-on-video-with-iit-researchers-2","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/opentalk.iit.it\/en\/science-on-video-with-iit-researchers-2\/","title":{"rendered":"Science on video with IIT researchers"},"content":{"rendered":"<h4><span lang=\"EN-GB\"><strong>In collaboration with ANSA Scienza&amp;Tecnica<\/strong><\/span><\/h4>\n<p><!--more--><\/p>\n<p><span lang=\"EN-GB\">The scientific contributions of IIT researchers for students, teachers and science lovers will be online as from Friday, 20 March.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span lang=\"EN-GB\">As from tomorrow, IIT, in collaboration with the editorial staff of ANSA Scienza&amp;Tecnica, is launching the initiative #Scienceonvideo, a collection of scientific contributions by the Institute&#8217;s researchers to support the teaching of schools deeply affected by the current situation and to entertain all those who want to explore frontier scientific topics during these days of isolation.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span lang=\"EN-GB\">From new materials to computational chemistry, from the exploration of the micro-world to robotics, from technologies for life sciences to those for the conservation of cultural heritage, until arriving at technological transfer and the creation of Hi-Tech start-ups. A journey through the four research domains of the Italian Institute of Technology &#8211; robotics, nanomaterials, life tech and computational sciences &#8211; narrated by young researchers and persons of international signifiance to emphasise the importance of research not only for broadening the horizons of knowledge but also for the improvement of people&#8217;s quality of life.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span lang=\"EN-GB\">The contributions will be streamed <a href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/iitalk\">on the IIT Facebook page<\/a>, to enable the public to interact directly with our researchers, and will also be available afterwards on the IIT social channels and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ansa.it\/canale_scienza_tecnica\/\">on the Ansa Scienza&amp;tecnica website<\/a> so that this content is available with great flexibility and in the long-term to students, teachers and enthusiasts. Moreover, researchers&#8217; contributions will be assembled on a dedicated page on the website <a href=\"https:\/\/school.iit.it\/\">https:\/\/school.iit.it<\/a>, the Institute&#8217;s online space targeting school audiences.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span lang=\"EN-GB\">An initiative which, in a period as sensitive as the one we are experiencing today, aims to provide teaching ideas and cultural entertainment for young people, with the goal of instilling curiosity and interest in issues that are not yet part of the school curriculum, the knowledge of which will be crucial for the next few decades.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span lang=\"EN-GB\">The first video is &#8220;Bioplastics of the future&#8221;: Giovanni Perotto, a researcher in the IIT Smart Materials team, takes us on the discovery of possible solutions to the problem of pollution by plastic. Can biodegradable plastic be created from waste from the production of foodstuffs?
