A new board member of the Istituto Italiano di Tecnologia

The Executive Vice President Thermo Fisher Scientific Gianluca Pettiti joins the IIT Board

The Executive Vice President Thermo Fisher Scientific Gianluca Pettiti has been appointed as Board member at the last meeting of the Board.

The engineer Pettiti, a graduate of the Politecnico di Torino, has extensive international experience managing industrial organizations from the United States to Brazil and China. His financial background has enabled him to successfully manage fast-growing markets, such as the diagnostics markets of Thermo Fisher, a company listed on the New York Stock Exchange. The diagnostic sector experienced exponential development during the pandemic. Engineer Pettiti’s involvement in such an important field as life sciences conducted at distant latitudes has enabled him to establish important institutional relationships.

Gianluca Pettiti is also a Member Health and Healthcare Council of the World Economic Forum.

Andrea Montanino, Chairman of the Board of the Istituto Italiano di Tecnologia, greets Ingegner Pettiti’s entry to the board by emphasizing: “the value of Pettiti’s managerial experience in the life science sector goes well with an area of research that is also strategic for IIT with the aim of offering an important contribution to the construction of a future with fewer unknowns in the prevention and treatment of diseases and epidemics”. President of the Executive Committee Gabriele Galateri, wishing Engineer Pettiti well in his work, highlights “his international experience that will be able to offer us valuable suggestions for the analysis and creation of new opportunities for relations with industrial realities and scientific multinationals”.
