A letter of the Scientific Director Giorgio Metta to the IIT family
Dear all,
In the wake of the somber events of today, I’d like to comment very briefly.
As members of the science community, we all understand the nonsense of what’s happening. It’s very sad. Let’s hope for the better, but today is a truly sad day for reason and for humanity.
“Violence is the last refuge of the incompetent” Isaac Asimov once said. He couldn’t say it better.
Hope none of you, nor your family nor friends are affected by the events. My thoughts are particularly with our IIT’s colleagues from Ukraine and Russia. I hope your families are safe and continue to be safe.
