Farewell to the outgoing president and 2025 financial highlights
At its April 28, 2026 meeting, the Board of “Fondazione Istituto Italiano di Tecnologia (IIT)” approved the institute’s 2025 Financial Statements and announced the appointment of Prof. Gianmario Verona as its new President.
Prof. Verona, who has served on the Board since 2021, takes over from Dr. Gabriele Galateri di Genola, whose term has now come to a close.
The Board took the opportunity to extend its heartfelt thanks to the outgoing President for guiding the Foundation over the past 14 years.
The 2025 Financial Statements, approved during the meeting, closed with revenues of approximately 190 million euros, of which nearly 73 million euros came from public-sector contracts and 8.3 million euros from private-sector contracts.
